LIVING THE MOMENT AND IN THE MOMENT
Deciding whether to live in the consciousness that we are beings living to die or to live in the moment like we know tomorrow or that we would never be snatched by death, is a decision that dwells in the hidden roots of the human mind. At a point in time, we try to imagine how and when we could possibly die, and so, we walk every step of life on the uncertainties of it and on the undeniable fact that we would all die one day. I personally would ask that if humans were born to die, why then be born ?
This resonates in me to a point where I acknowledge the reality that what makes our life a success is our purpose. We all have different purposes and these vehicles that drive us through the journey of life. We are either living to achieve this or that while not knowing when death would come knocking. Life itself is so fragile that, every moment is so fleeting. You have plans to attend a party, plan your next birthday, introduction, attend a function, or a church service? No matter how far the date of the event is, it would surely come and go because nothing actually tarries forever, and our age is a testifier to that fact.
I am of the opinion that every time we have while still breathing should be cherished and well spent, either with our loved ones- friends, family, partner or doing the things we love doing. Exploring that new found hobby, going on that trip, taking that course, cooking up that new food recipe, seeing new places, gifting your loved ones, whatever thing it maybe should be done without deferring and without regrets.
Nature has blessed us with memories over our years, moments to keep and hold on to for a long time till they fade, technology has us also given us the gift of pictures for safe keeping of moments we love and want to have for period of time. These I would say, are blessings in disguise, you remember them and smile, something that even comes handy in the loss of a loved one.
There is a scripture in the bible I would like to quote from 1Thessalonians 4:15-18, specifically the last verse and it says : ...wherefore comfort one another with these words , I have always read this verse without so much meaning to it until recently, I had a different perception to it- comfort one another with these words for we are also the living dead that is, we mourn the loss of one as we live and await our time.
The connection between this life and the next is a thin line, a single breath, a single step and just in a moment, for the beauty of death lies in the mystery of its coming.

All we can do is live a purposeful life, keeping in mind that every breath could be the last.
